Finance Department

The Finance Department is responsible for the financial well-being of our municipality through the provision of effective and reliable financial advice, services and information to the Council, staff and the public.


Funds are collected annually from various sources including property taxes, service charges, business licenses and state quarterly tax payments. The Finance Department oversees the expenditures of these funds through the annual budget process. Financial functions also include accounts payable, payroll, maintaining property tax information, local accommodation/hospitality tax and insurance.


The Finance Department effectively manages highly cyclical cash flows ensures adequate funds are available to fulfill the strategic plans and initiatives under the City. Additionally, all sources and inflows of revenues are identified and allocated to key capital projects.


The Finance Department works in collaboration with the other departments to ensure the fiscal responsibility and stewardship of the municipality's operations and assets. It The department also provides municipal accounting and financial services for the City and the taxpayers.

The Department will provide the citizen-customer with the state of the art financial management, financial reporting, and cost effective acquisition of goods and services for the City government consistent with local, state and federal laws and governmental accounting and regulatory requirements.

The Finance Department is responsible for the administration, direction and coordination of all financial services of the City. Financial planning, budgeting, treasury management, investments, accounting, purchasing, payroll, and accounts payable are all functions of the Finance Department.
