Welcome to the City of Hardeeville recreation park. Our goal is to enrich people's lives through quality recreation, cultural experiences and community services that benefit the quality of life for all Hardeeville residents. We invite you to explore the wide variety of facilities, activities and open space offered through our Parks and Recreation Department.
Do you want to sit in the sun or fly a kite? The open field located directly behind the Community Center is the perfect location for passive recreation opportunities. These can include walking, picnicking, open field games, flying kites or model airplanes, or just sitting in the sun.
This is the home of the Hardeeville Patriots Youth Football Team. Patriots Stadium has come to symbolize the pride, tradition and excellence of the City of Hardeeville Parks and Recreation Department. The stadium was given a complete renovation in July 2004, including tons of new sand for drainage, an irrigation system, and sodding the field with Tifway 419 Bermuda grass. Also included were a $20,000 scoreboard, press box, and new stadium seating. The Patriots Stadium will also serve as host to flag football leagues and soccer leagues.
The two outdoor basketball courts is a great way to enjoy healthy exercise while spending time with friends. Anyone can play, whether you are shooting baskets, playing a game of one on one with your best bud, or engaging in a full court five on five basketball game. We've added an additional court to allow for more playing time and also expended the length of the courts.
The Richard Gray Baseball Complex and the multi-purpose field are the newest additions to the Hardeeville Parks and Recreation Department. The Richard Gray Baseball Complex has four baseball diamonds complete with Tifway 419 turf grass, stadium seating, sport lighting, and an irrigation system. Two of the fields were built to college baseball size, making them attractive to regional or national tournaments. The fields play host to the Hardeeville Baseball Association which is sanctioned by the Dixie Youth Baseball Association. The multi-purpose field, which was also a new addition to the sport complex, will be used as a practice field for the Hardeeville Patriots and soccer leagues.
Planning a picnic or wanting to play "Pirates of the Savannah River"? Located at the far end of the sport complex off of Randall Street is the new playground complex with slides, climbing bars, and talking tubes. This is a place where a child's imagination can take over, transporting them to their very own pirate ship, spaceship or even a castle. Children will love the playing time while parents will enjoy the security and relaxation under the trees. Inside the playground area is the perfect picnic area including grills and picnic tables.
Oh, how the big one got away! Looking for a natural setting to reel in some bream and bass? The newly constructed ponds are home to bass, bream, catfish, and grass carps. The three ponds are 5.1 acres and five to six feet deep in the center. There are future plans for adding fishing docks and to host fishing tournaments for the kids.
