COVID-19 Information 

Overview

The City of Hardeeville continues to closely monitor developments related to the 2019 Novel Coronavirus, COVID-19. The City is committed to preventing the spread of the virus and has made the decision to close its buildings to the public effective immediately. City Staff is available, but all business must be conducted by phone at 843-784-2231 or the internet.

Emergency and Public Safety Services remain available but will be taking precautions as needed. Calls for service shall be screened and many issues will be handled remotely. Public Works shall also continue serving the City while taking appropriate safety precautions.

What the City Is Doing

Municipal Court

  • All jury trials, roll calls, and any other larger gatherings such as traffic court are canceled.
  • Call 843-784-3366 to contact the staff if you have any questions.

Parks & Recreation

  • All events scheduled until May 4 are canceled.
  • Follow the City of Hardeeville on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for opportunities to participate in virtual events.

Planning Department

  • Building Inspections shall only be conducted for new construction.
  • Deadlines for Business Licenses shall be extended to June 1.
  • Documents must be submitted electronically or mailed.
  • Plan Reviews shall be handled remotely. Staff will contact applicants with further details.

City Meetings

The City of Hardeeville cares about the health of residents, city employees, visitors, and those who work in Hardeeville. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Hardeeville City Council will be holding City Council meetings as an electronic and in-person hybrid. The meetings will not be open to the public. City Council members and key city employees will be in attendance in Council Chambers. City council members will be seated 6 feet apart to follow social distancing procedures. 

The workshop will be live-streamed on the city's Facebook page and HTVN Channel 9. The public will not be allowed in the chambers but is encouraged and invited to view the meeting and participate by commenting on social media. The city is continuously working to adapt as the situation unfolds.

Reopening Plan

The City of Hardeeville is hard at work to safely and efficiently reopen by following guidelines set forth by the Center for Disease Control Prevention (CDC) and the governor’s executive orders.
